Critical Thinking
In this section we use the CTAIS (Critical Thinking about AI Scale) — a validated multi-item scale that measures epistemic humility and calibrated trust in AI outputs. It runs pending an assessment-psychologist scope-of-use sign-off (in review at v1.4.1) and contributes evidence to the J2 (Calibrated trust and probabilistic reasoning) sub-dimension. The real assessment presents ten or more items with mixed forward- and reverse-scored statements.
An example item might be:
When an AI tool delivers an answer confidently and without caveats, I usually accept it unless something obviously contradicts what I already know.
- Strongly disagree
- Disagree
- Neutral
- Agree
- Strongly agree
Illustrative item — the demo shows one representative question per section, not the full battery. In this persona, this answer anchors at L2 for J2.
The real assessment runs the full CTAIS critical-thinking-about-AI scale, pending an assessment-psychologist scope-of-use sign-off (in review at v1.4.1).
